BABCHI - FOR LEUCODERMA, LEPROSY

There are are a very few plants used for the treatment of leucoderma, of which Babcci is the first one . Babchi, botanically known as Psoralea corylifolia Linn  belongs to family Fabaceae, In sanskrit it is known as Bakuci. Seeds and leaves are used for the preparation of medicines

MEDICINAL USES

1. Leprosy- One should take babchi seeds 10 gm with hot water and keepin on diet with milk and ghee. This is an excellent remedy for all types of leprosy

b. Babchi should be taken with warm water and the patient be exposed to the sun keeping on milk diet. Thus he gets rid of the diet

c, Anointment with the powder of babchi mixed with sunthi destroys severe and chronic leprosy

2. Leucoderma- Babchi seeds 160 gm with haritala 40 gm pounded with cow urine restores normal color in vitiligo 

b. Decoction of amalaka and khadira, heartwood added with babchi powder should be used regularly keeping  on wholesome diet . It alleviates vitiligo

c. Babchi is put in decoction of bibhitaka bark overnight , then pounded and taken with oil . It destroys vitiligo and leprosy

d. Milk is curdled in earthen vessel pasted inside with the powder of babchi . Ghee extracted from this should be taken with honey followed by intake of buttermilk . It destroys vitiligo

3. For conception- A woman taking babchi with ghee along with warm water in menstrual period keeping on diet with milk processed with asvagandha gets male progeny

4.Dysentery - Leaves of babchi cooked with curd and pomegranate and added with ample ghee are used as vegetable

Deafness- One should take powder of musali and babchi in treatment of deafness 

5. Filaria- Decoction of babchi destroys filaria

6. Wound-- Application of paste of babchi leaves checks hemorrhage in wounds

7. Poisoning- Gruel cooked with babchi is useful in poisoning
