TROPAEOLUM MAJUS

BOTANICAL NAME:  Tropaeolum majus Linn.

FAMILY:  Tropaeolaceae

COMMON NAMES:  English: Garden nasturtium, Indian cress.

DESCRIPTION:  A perennial , dwarf or climbing, more or less succulent. Leaves alternate, long petioled, orbicular or somewhat reniform in shape. The flowers are solitary on long axillary peduncles, very irregular in shape, showy, varying in color from yellow to red. Flowering occurs throughout summer.

DISTRIBUTION:  A native of Peru. Varieties of the wild form are in cultivation throughout North America and elsewhere.

PART USED: Whole plant.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

URINE:  Urine extremely fetid in smell. Urinary difficulties.

POTENCY:  Mother tincture.
