VESICARIA

BOTANICAL NAME:  Alyssoids urticulata (L) Medic

FAMILY:  Cruciferae

COMMON NAMES: English: Greek bladder pod.

DESCRIPTION:  A perennial, glaucescent herb. Leaves are numerous, entire, basal obtuse, ciliate, cauline lanceolate, glabrous and sessile. Flowers large, yellow with entire petals. The fruits are grouped in a short raceme.

DISTRIBUTION:  Meridional Europe, from France to Greece , in dry, rocky  soil.

PARTS USED:  Whole plant

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

CYSTITIS:  A smarting, burning sensation along the course of the urethra and bladder with frequent desire to void urine often accompanied with a strangury.  Albuminuria.

It is also effective for kidney stones, gonorrhea, hematuria and prostatitis.
