RHUS GLABRA: A REMEDY FOR DEBILITY.

BOTANICAL NAME:  Rhus glabra Linn.

FAMILY:  Anacardiaceae

COMMON NAMES:  English:  Smooth sumac.

DESCRIPTION:  A large shrub or small tree upto 6 m. in height.  Leaves alternate, exstipulate, imparipinnate with from 11 to 30 lanceolate, or oblong –lanceolate leaflets. Flowers small, green and polygamous and arranged on erect terminal thyrses. Fruit a crimson drupe containing a single exalbuminous seed.

DISTRIBUTION: Canada and United States.

PART USED:  Leaves and bark

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

HEADACHE:  Occipital headaches. Dull, heavy headache on waking, better by exercise.

DEBILITY: Profuse perspiration arising from debility. Exhaustion and painful fatigue.

 MOUTH ULCERS: Ulceration of mouth.  Bleeding from mouth. Several  small , very sensitive ulcers. Nursing sore moth.

STOMACH: Pain in stomach, worse by food or drink

SLEEP:     Sleep disturbed by annoying dreams, very restless. Dreams of flying through the air.

POTENCY:  Mother tincture. Applied locally to soft, spongy gums, aphthae, and pharyngitis.
