DIET AND HOMEOPATHY FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
High blood
pressure is a common condition that affects the body’s arteries. In high blood
pressure, the force of blood pushing against the artery walls is consistently
high. The heart has to work harder to pump blood.
Blood
pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury. In general hypertension is a
blood pressure of 130/80 millimeters of mercury or higher.
DIET
1. Drink
enough water.
2. Eat more
fruits and vegetables high in both potassium, magnesium , and vitamins.
3. Eat more
seeds high in magnesium. Take 500 mg daily. The richest source is dark green
vegetables, nuts and seeds.
4. Avoid
salt

alcohol and smoking.
HOMEOPATHY
ADRENALINUM
A palliative for high
blood pressure. High arterial pressure and, roaring in ears.
ALLIUM SATIVA
High blood pressure
associated with high cholesterol levels. Suit to fat and fleshy persons, who
prefer non-vegetarian diet. Patients who eat a great deal more, especially
meat, than they drink. The digestion is disturbed slightest irregularities in
diet. Dull pain in occiput in morning. Heaviness in forehead
AMYLE NITROSUM
High blood pressure
with breathlessness. Dyspnea. Shortness of breath and heaviness in the chest.
Pain and constriction around heart. Pulsation all over the body. Flushing heat,
followed by drenching sweats. Hot sensation in the body, fand redness of the
face. Anxiety, as if something bad might happen, must have fresh air.
AURUM METALLICUM
High blood pressure
with low pulse pressure. Hypertension from arteriosclerosis. Pulse rapid,
feeble, and irregular. Depression.
Disgust of life. Suicidal tendency but
afraid of death.
BARYTA MURIATICA
Hypertension of the
aged. Vascular degeneration causing hypertension. High systolic pressure with a
comparatively low diastolic pressure.
BELLADONNA
Hypertension with
violent palpitation, prolonged echoing sound in head with labored breath.
Palpitation from least exertion and throbbing all through the body. Vertigo
with falling on left side or backward. Skin flushed and hot. Great anxiety or
fear. Sensitive to touch, noise, jar.
BOEHAAVIA DIFFUSA
Hypertension with
palpitation. Increased blood pressure with ringing in ears and heat of vertex.
Blurred vision and profuse perspiration.
CACATUS GRANDIFLORUS
Hypertension with
heart diseases. A feeling of constriction in the heart region and have angina
pain.
CONIUM MACULATUM
Hypertension of
bachelors and maids in old age.
CRATAEGUS OXY
A heart tonic. A
specific remedy for high blood pressure. Dyspnea on least exertion.
LYCOPUS VIRGINICUS
Lowers blood pressure
by reducing the rate of heart and increasing the length of systole to a greater
degree. Pulse weak, irregular and intermittent. Heart’s action is tumultuous
and forcible. Hypertension with hypertrophy of heart with dilatation. Aneurism of heart vessels near heart.
NATRUM MURIATICUM
Great weakness, and
weariness, especially in the morning in bed. Tachycardia. Palpitation shaking
the body, or alternating with beating in head. Easily exhausted. Oversensitive
to external stimuli like sounds, smells or lights. Introvert patients. Great craving for salt
and salty food. Hypertension with hyperthyroidism and goiter. Headache, worse
from sunlight.
LACHESIS
High blood pressure,
especially during menopause or post menopause. Great sensitiveness to touch, cannot tolerate
bed-clothes, or night dress to touch throat or abdomen, clothes cause an
uneasiness, make her nervous. Intolerance of tight bands about neck or waist. Headache,
left side. Complaints worse at night.
GLONOINE
High blood pressure
with congestive headache. Blood rushes upwards.
Bursting and expansion sensation.
Headache aggravated by heat of sun. Great lassitude, no inclination to
work, extreme irritability. Violent palpitations, throbbing carotids. Pulsation
in the whole body to the finger tips. Any exertion brings on rush of blood to
heart and fainting spells.
PHYSOSTIGMA
Hypertension with a
feeling a cap is gripping the head.
PITUITRINUM
Relieves the headache
of patients suffering from high blood pressure.
PLUMBUM METALLICUM
Hypertension from
arteriosclerosis. From gout or kidney diseases. Skin pale. Red blood corpuscles
are decreased.
RADIUM BROMIDE
High blood pressure
from atherosclerosis. Pulse is rapid, irregular and fluttering. Awakes at night
due to palpitation. Sensation of constriction in the heart region. Great
weakness.
RAUWOLFIA SERPENTINA
A specific remedy for
hypertension. It is used as a palliative for high blood pressure.
SPARTIUM SCORPARIUMS
Spartian sulphate
increases the strength of the heart, slows it and reduces the blood pressure.
It lowers both systolic and diastolic pressures. It weakens the cardiac
contraction.
STROPHANTHUS HISPIDUS
Increases the
contractile power of all striped muscles. Aching on the muscles of the heart,
it increases the systole and diminishes the rapidity. Being a greater diuretic,
it can be used in those cases of hypertension caused various dropsical
conditions. Hypertension from atherosclerosis, hypertension from rigid arteries
of the aged people. Pulse quickened due to its increased contractile action on
the heart muscle.
SUMBULUS MOSCHATUS
Hypertension from
atherosclerosis. Nervous palpitation. Pulse irregular. Loses breath on any
exertion. A tissue remedy for sclerosed arteries.
TERMINALIA ARJUNA
High blood pressure
with vertigo, palpitation and a sense of mental and physical exhaustion. It is
a heart tonic used both in functional and organic diseases of the heart with
symptoms like palpitation, and weakness of the heart.
THUJA OCCIDENTAILS
High blood pressure
with personal or parental history of coronary thrombosis. Hypertension is
associated with poor arterial wall.
VANADIUM METALLICUM
Degenerative
conditions of the arteries. Arteriosclerosis, sensation as if heart was
compressed, as if blood had no room in the aorta. Anxious pressure on whole
chest. Atheroma of arteries and brain. Hypertension leading to atherosclerosis.
VERATRUM VIRIDE
Hypertension with
oppression, sighing, rapid respiration and grasping for breath. Lowers both
systolic and diastolic pressure.
VISCUM ALBUM
Hypertension from
hypertrophy and valvular insufficiency of heart. Pulse small and weak. Unable
to rest in a reclining position. Palpitation during sex. Weight and oppression
of heart, as if hand were squeezing it. Heart beat irregular.
Mix CRATAEGUS OXY. Q, PASSIFLORA INCARNATA Q,
and RAUWOLFIA SEPENTINA Q in equal proportions and give 15 drops in
water every 2 hours for immediate relief. This is the only palliation.
