BOTANICAL NAME:  Taraxacum officinale Weber.

FAMILY: Compositae

COMMON NAMES:  English: Dandelion; Hindi: Kanphul.

DESCRIPTION:  A perennial herb with milky juice. Leaves radical, sessile, variable in shape, generally oblong, irregularly pinnatified, lobes linear or triangular, acute , toothed., pointing downwards or rarely oblanceolate and nearly entire. Flowers yellow.

DISTRIBUTION:  Throughout Europe. India in Himalayas.

PART USED:  Whole plant.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

CANCER- MOUTH:  A specific remedy for mouth cancer. Tongue mapped covered with a white film, feels raw, and comes off in patches, leave red, sensitive spots.  Salivation. Bitter , sour taste and eructation.

CANCER- BLADDER:  A specific remedy for bladder cancer. Frequent desire to urinate with copious urine.

LIVER:  Liver enlarged and indurated. Headache due to liver disorder. Bitter taste in mouth.

ABDOMEN:  Hysterical tympanites. Sensation of bubbles bursting in bowels. Pressive shooting in abdomen and sides of abdomen, in left side of the hypogastrium.

NURALGIA: Neuralgia of knee, better from pressure. Limbs painful to touch.

POTENCY:  Mother tincture, 3rd potency.
