COMMON NAMES:  Bristly sarsaparilla

DESCRIPTION:  A perennial herb with short woody stem, bristly with sharp spines. Leaves bipinnate, leaflets oval, rounded or narrow at the base. Flowers in umbels. Berry globose, nearly black.

DISTRIBUTION: U.S.A

PART USED:   Root.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

DIURETIC:  A valuable diuretic, useful in dropsy , either due to hepatic or kidney disease, with constipation.

POTENCY: Mother tincture and higher.
