BOTANICAL NAME: Centella asiatica ( Linn. ) Urb.

COMMON NAMES: English: Thick leaved pennywort; Hindi: Mundukparni;Malayalam: Kudakal; Tamil:
Kacappi.
DESCRIPTION: A prostrate, perennial , faintly aromatic
herb. Leaves long petioled , reniform, or orbicular crenate and often lobed,
glabrous, or nearly so and shining, stipules adnate to petioles. Peduncles much
shorter than the leaves, often 2-3 nate. Bracts small, ovate embracing the
flowers, not scattered among the pedicels. Flowers 3-6 in each head.
DISTRIBUTION: Very common at moist places, in India.
PART USED: Whole plant.
HOMOEOPATHIC
USES
SKIN: Great thickness of
epidermoid layer of skin and exfoliation of scales. Psoriasis in trunk,
extremities, palms and soles. Erysipelatus redness, circular spots with scaly
edges. Dry eruptions. Erythema on face, neck, back, chest, arms, thighs with much itching and copious
sweat. Miliary eruptions on neck, back, chest, pricking and itching on different
parts. Intolerable itching, especially of soles. Elephantiasis. Leprosy and
lupus.
EXTREMITIES: Bruised
feeling in all muscles. Wandering pains in muscle, chest, and legs. Sensation
as if hot water ran through marrow of bones. Contractions of forearm and legs.
FEMALE: Vaginal itching. Heat within vagina. Granular
ulceration of womb. Weight in uterus. Severe labor like pain in uterus and
appendages. Profuse leucorrhea.
POTENCY: Mother tincture, 3x, 6x.
