DESCRIPTION: A sparingly
branched, xerophytic, low tree , up to about 3 m in height, with grayish green,
chiefly trifoliate leaves with large, lanceolate to cuneate leaflets that are
frequently toothed toward the summit. The lateral leaflets are mostly very
small. The flowers are small and axillary.
DISTRIBUTION: Tropical Africa.
PART USED: Gum-resin.
HOMOEOPATHIC
USES
MOUTH: Abscess. Pyorrhoea. Spongy and bleeding gums.
Salivation. Sores in the mouth. Inflammed and sore gums.
TONSILLITIS: Tonsillitis
with large and infected glands. Abscess glands. Sore throat.
FEMALE: Dragging and
weight sensation in the female pelvis. Leucorrhea. Suppressed menses in anemic
young girls.
COUGH: Respiratory
weakness with difficult expectoration.
GASTRITIS: Chronic
gastritis with dyspepsia.
POTENCY: Mother tincture and higher. Tincture is used
as a mouthwash for infected gums, ulcerated tongue and tonsillitis.
