A whitlow or felon is an infection of the tip of the finger.  Herpetic whitlow   and melanotic whitlow are subtypes that are not synonymous with the term felon.  Locally paint with Dioscorea Q
3.     Allium cepa 30-- It should be tried when other remedies fail
4.     Myristica sebifera Q--A specific remedy. It hasten suppuration and aborts pus quickly
5.     Hepar sulh. 3x-- Heat , throbbing and swelling Worse at night , preventing sleep , must hold the finger
6.     Silicea 3x-- If  taken early the pus formation may cut short
7.     Nitric acid 200-- Fungoid granulation in the affected flesh. Intense pain
