BOTANICAL NAME: Narcissus poeticus Linn.

FAMILY: Amaryllidaceae

COMMON NAMES: English: Daffodil.

DESCRIPTION:It is a robust palnt , up to 1m height, bulb about 5cm diameter. Leaves glaucous , 4 to 6 in number narrow but flat erect. Scape 20-40 cm long, generally equaling leaves.  Flowers solitary , white , horizontal or ascending.

DISTRIBUTION: UK, Sweden, Spain, and Australia.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

Dryness of mouth. Checks cutaneous secreations. Dilates pupil of the eye. Quickens pulse and slows and weakens the heart contractions. A remedy for coughs and bronchitis.  For convulsive stage of whooping cough.  Symptoms of nausea followed by violent vomiting and diarrhea. Skin, erythema of a papular, vesicular and pustular type, worse in wet weather.
