DESCRIPTION:
A perennial , tall grass. The plants are
c2-6 metres tall with stout , jointed, fibrous stalks that are rich in sucrose,
which accumulates in the stalk internodes. Inflorescens terminal , plumose,
spikelets binate with long silky hairs.

Warm temperate to tropical regions of Southeast Asia.
