HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES FOR STYE

A stye is a red, painful lump near the edge of your eyelid that may look like a boil or a pimple. Sties are often filled with pus. A stye usually forms on the outside of your eyelid. But sometimes it can form on the inner part of your eyelid.
In most cases, a stye will begin to disappear on its own in a couple days. In the meantime, you may be able to relieve the pain or discomfort of a stye by applying a warm washcloth to your eyelid.
Causes-- A stye is caused by an infection of oil glands in the eyelid. The bacterium staphylococcus is responsible for most of these infections.
Symptoms--. The main symptoms  are- pain, redness, tenderness in the affected area , a small pimple appears , frequent watering from the affected eye, a feeling of foreign body in the eye, increased light sensitivity.
Risk factors-You are at increased risk of a sty if you:
·         Touch your eyes with unwashed hands
·         Insert your contact lenses without thoroughly disinfecting them or washing your hands first
·         Leave on eye makeup overnight
·         Use old or expired cosmetics
·         Have blepharitis, a chronic inflammation along the edge of the eyelid
·         Have rosacea, a skin condition characterized by facial redness

HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES
Well selected Homoeopathic remedies are very effective for styes and cure it safely without any side effects .

PULSATILLA NIG. 30-Pulsatilla is best for stye and it is prescribed at the beginning . Here the stye appear especially on the upper eyelid. It is worse from warm and better from cold applications.

HEPAR SULPH.30- Hepar sulph is prescribed where there is no relief with Pulsatilla. There is severe pain and inflammation . Stye have a tendency to recurrence.

SILICEA 30-Silicea is another best remedy for stye where the stye are pustular and suppurating. There is burning and redness in the eyes.

STAPHYSAGRIA 30—Staphysagria is an excellent remedy for stye where the stye occur on the lower or upper lid. Styes  have a tendency of recurrence.

JUGULANS REGIA 6—Jugulans regia is best for stye where the sty remain as a hard nodule, if not treated it may convert in to a cyst.Here the styes are painful which is found especially on the upper lid.

AEGLE MARMELOS Q- Aegle marmelos is best for stye with stitching pain. The pain worsen from strain and better from cold application.

ALUMINIUM SILICATE 30-Aluminium silicate is prescribed where stye with swollen eyelid is present . There is redness, soreness and pain in the eyes.

AURUM SULPH. 3X- Aurum sulph is is prescribed when stye occurs near the outer canthus.

THUJA OCCIDENTALIS 200- Thuja occ. is best for hard , condylomatous stye.

CALCAREA PICRATA 3X- Calcarea picrata is considered a near specific remedy for stye.

THIOSINAMINUM 3X- Thiosinaminum is best for dissolving the cystic formation of stye.

ARNICA MONTANA 30-Arnica is prescribed when bluish styes are occurs in crops.

NATRUM MURIATICUM 30-Natrum mur is best for stye especially that occurs in the inner canthi. There is watering of eyes .

Prevention--To prevent eye infections:
Wash your hands. Wash your hands with soap and warm water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer several times each day. Keep your hands away from your eyes.
Take care with cosmetics. Reduce your risk of recurrent eye infections by throwing away old cosmetics. Don't share your cosmetics with others. Don't wear eye makeup overnight.
Make sure your contact lenses are clean. If you wear contact lenses, wash your hands thoroughly before handling your contacts and follow your doctor's advice on disinfecting them.
Apply warm compresses. If you've had a sty before, using a compress regularly may help prevent it from coming back.
Manage blepharitis. If you have blepharitis, follow your doctor's instructions for caring for your eyes.
