STAPHYSAGRIA
BOTANICAL NAME:  Delphinium staphysagria Linn.
FAMILY:  Ranunculaceae
COMMON NAMES:  English-Louse seeds, Palmated larkspur.
DESCRIPTION:  An ornamental annual herb, with large tapering root. Leaves alternate, broad, palmately 5-9 cleft , petioled, hairy on the veins beneath. Flowers light blue in lax racemes. Seeds consists of 3 straight, oblong downy capsules in each of which are about 12 seeds packed in 2 rows.
DISTRIBUTION:  Native of Italy, Greek islands and Asia Minor.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES
HEADACHE:  The brain feels compressed, with paroxysmal roaring in the ear. Sensation as of a round ball in the forehead, sitting firm  there, even when shaking the head. Pressive stupefying headache , especially in forehead. Sharp burning, needle like stitches in left temple. Dull stitches in right temple, worse from touch. Brain aches as if torn to pieces, morning on rising from bed, worse from motion, better from rest and warmth; headache passes off with much yawning.
STYES:  Styes, especially on upper eyelid. Styes recurrent, onr after the other, sometimes ulcerating. Nodosities and chalazae on eyelids.
FACIAL NEURALGIA:  Neuralgia when there are pressing and beating pains extending from a decayed tooth to the eyes, aggravated by slight pressure, or by the contact of a metallic substance, such as a knife or a spoon, better by form pressure.
TOOTHACHE: Teeth become black or show dark streaks runnig through them. The drawing, tearing, gnawning pains are not confined to the decayed teeth, but affect the sound ones also. Worse at night, in the open air, from cold drinks and from eating, when he feels tearing in the gums. The submaxillary glands are painful, and the gums are pale, white, ulcerated and swollen. Frequently the pains shoot up into the ears.
CYSTITIS:  Cystitis in lying in patients. Ineffectual urging to urinate in newly married women. Pressure, feels as if it did not empty. Sensation as if a drop of urine were rolling continuously along the channel. Burning in urethra during urination.
ONANISM:  A remedy for bad effects of  long standing masturbation. There is hypochondria, with great taciturnity , constant uneasiness as to the state of one’s health. Anxious imagination, dwells on sexual matters, prefers solitude, great deficiency of animal heat, tendency to take cold easily, memory weak, sleepiness. Eyes are deep sunken, red and lusterless. Hair falls off. Emission with backache and weakness.
EPIDIDYMITIS:  Violent drawing, burning stitches from the right abdominal ring, apparently  in the spermatic cord as far as the right testicle, or drawing with pressure in the right testicle as if it were violently compressed and aching pains in the outside of the left testicle when walking, increased by touching the part.
UTERINE PROLAPSE:  Whole abdomen feels as if it would drop, so relaxed is it. There is disappointed love or permitting the mind to dwell on sexual subjects has favoured this relaxation. Leucorrhea accompanied with prolapse, which is yellow and excoriating.
CONSTIPATION:  10 drops mother tincture night and morning.
COLIC:  Colic after anger. Severe pain after an abdominal operation.  
ECZEMA:  Eczema on head, face, ears and body. Yellow, moist, offensive scales. Intense itching , which disappears on scratching, but soon appears on another place, oozing after scratching. Better in the open air.
WARTS: After abuse of mercury. Dry , pedunculated warts.
POTENCY:  3rd to  30 potency
