ANAGALLIS ARVENSIS

BOTANICAL NAME:  Anagallis arvensis Linn.

FAMILY:  Primulaceae

COMMON NAMES:  English: Scarlet pimpernel

DESCRIPTION:  A trailing annual herb. Leaves opposite , entire, ovate, sessile, dotted on the lower surface. Flower solitary and axillary,  scarlet color, peduncle erect during flowering but curved backwards when seed ripens. Fruit a tiny capsule.

PART USED : Whole plant.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

SKIN:  Dry, bran-like eruptions, especially on hands and fingers. Palms especially affected.  Itching. Vesicles in groups. Ulcers and swellings on joints. Possess  power of softening flesh and destroying warts.

POTENCY: First to third potency.
