BOTANICAL NAME:  Primula vulgaris Huds

FAMILY:  Primulaceae

COMMON NAMES:  English: Primrose

DESCRIPTION: A perennial herb, with leaves all basal. The leaves are oblong or obovate-oblong, obtuse, crenulate, mor or less pilose or glabrescent , wrinkled, and narrowed into petioles shorter than the blades. Flowers pale yellow,  purple or blue. The fruit is a many seeded capsule.

DISTRIBUTION: Native of Europe. Cultivated in North America.

PART USED:  Whole plant.

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

Wandering dropsy. Oppression at the heart.

POTENCY:  Mother tincture and higher.
