HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES FOR LEUCORRHOEA OR VAGINAL DISCHARGE

Vaginal discharge is a combination of fluid and cells continuously shed through your vagina.

Normal vaginal discharge helps keep vaginal tissues healthy, provide lubrication and protect against infection and irritation. The amount, color and consistency of normal vaginal discharge varies — from whitish and sticky to clear and watery — depending on the stage of your reproductive (menstrual) cycle.

Abnormal vaginal discharge — for instance, fluid with an unusual odor or appearance or discharge that occurs along with itching or pain — may be a sign that something's wrong.

Causes- Most causes of abnormal vaginal discharge — such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis or menopause symptoms — are relatively harmless, but they can be uncomfortable.

Abnormal vaginal discharge can also be a symptom of certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Since these can spread to involve the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, and can be passed on to sexual partners, detection and treatment of STIs is important.

Rarely, a brownish or blood-tinged vaginal discharge could be a sign of cervical cancer.

Homoeopathic remedies are found to be very effective for leucorrhoea. Some of the important remedies are given below.

ALUMINA 30-Alumina is one of the  top  medicines for Leucorrhoea with severe  burning , itching in genitals. The discharge   is very acrid and transparent  that causes excessive burning and itching   in genitals. Such burning gets better by washing the parts with cold water. Another leading prescribing symptom is that the discharge is very profuse and even runs down till the heels. The  vaginal discharge is worse during day time and after menses and the patient is physically and mentally exhausted after menses.There is severe  chronic  constipation and go without  passing stool  for many days.

 BORAX 3X- Borax is the one of the top remedies for  acrid Leucorrhea where the discharge is like the white of an egg with a sensation as if warm water is flowing with excessive itching. KREOSOTUM 30-Kreosotum is another effective medicine for leucorrhoea when it is  very offensive and acrid, causing violent corrosive itching of genitals. The vaginal discharge is yellow and always leaves a yellow stain on the linen. The condition gets worse between periods. Standing makes the discharge worse and the patient feels better while sitting or lying down.

NATRUM MURIATICUM 30-Natrum Muriaticum is an effective remedy for   Leucorrhea where the vaginal discharge is thick, white and transparent. The discharge gets worse on walking. Contractive pains in abdomen usually accompany Leucorrhea. Natrum mur. persons are usually  anemic and crave for salty things in excess. The heat of sun is unbearable for the patients.

HYDRSTIS CANADENSIS 30-Hydratis Canadensis is prescribed when the discharge is thick , yellow, thick and ropy and hangs down in long strings. Excessive itching is always felt. The discharge is worse immediately following menses with a lot of weakness. IODUM 30--Iodum is an effective medicine for leucorrhoea   where the discharges are so acrid that they make holes in the linen. Such discharges are worse at the time of menses with corrosive itching.

MERCURIUS SOLUBILIS 30- Mercurius Solubilis is another effective remedy for leucorrhoea which is acrid  with intense itching and burning in parts that is worse at night. Itching can also get worse while urinating and the patient has to wash off the parts with cold water after urination. The colour of the  vaginal discharge is mainly greenish and bloody .

AESCULUS HIPPOCASTANUM 30- Aesculus Hippocastanum is prescribed where leucorrhoea occurs  with lameness in back accompanied by a thick, dark yellow vaginal discharge. The discharge  gets worse after menses.

ABROMA ANGUSTA 30-Abroma angusta is effective for leucorrhoea in diabetic ladies . The discharge is thick and whitish. In Abroma angusta persons the menses is painful.

KALI CARBONICUM 30- Kali Carbonicum is an  ideal  medicine for leucorrhoea  where the person  feel a sharp, cutting pain in lower back with a sensation as if the back would break. The vaginal discharge is yellow with burning and itching in the vulva and the patient feels very chilly.

EUPIONUM 30- Eupionum is prescribed when a patient has a severe backache with gushing Leucorrhea that gets worse after menses.In this remedy  some sort of uterine displacement is often noticed .

CALCAREA PHOSPHORICUM 30- Calcarea Phoshphoricum  is effective   for young school-going girls suffering from Leucorrhea. The girls experiencea white vaginal discharge like the white of an egg, and may complain of anemia or headache. Leucorrhea in young girls that worsens during urination or after passing stool can also be treated with Calcarea Phoshphorica.

SARACA INDICA Q- Saraca indica is prescribed for leucorrhoea of small girls who become weak and emaciated, despite good food and regular nourishment .

PHOSPHORIC ACID Q- Phosphoric acid is effective in leucorrhoea of nursing women who nurse the child longer than a year. The discharge is yellow with itching of the genitals.

THLASPI BURSA Q-Thlaspi bursa is effective for leucorrhoea when leucorrhoea occurs before and after menses, bloody, dark, offensive and stains the underwear. This stain does not go on washing.
