BOTANICAL NAME:  Onosmodium virginianum ( L) A.DC

FAMILY: Boraginaceae

COMMON NAMES:  English: False gromwell

DESCRIPTION: A perennial herb up to 70 cm in height. Leaves alternate, oblong-lanceolate, sessile, entire, distinctly narrowed to the base. Inflorescence terminal . Flowers whitish green or yellowish in color.

DISTRIBUTION: North America, New England to Virginia and southward.

PART USED: Whole plant

HOMOEOPATHIC USES

MIGRAINE: Migraine headache from eyestrain or sexual excess, especially on left side. Dull, heavy, dizzy, pressing upward in occiput. Occipital headache as if screwed, worse eyestrain and lying down. Pain up and down from occiput (left) to shoulder worse exertion.

EYESTRAIN: Eyeatrain, strained feeling in eyes, worse using eyes. Ocular muscles tense. Pain in eye balls between orbit and ball, extending to left temple.

SEX DRIVE: Psychological impotence. Loss of desire. Speedy emissions. Sexual desire completely absent in females.
