QUERCUS ROBUR
BOTANICAL NAME---Quercus robur Linn.
FAMILY—Fagaceae
COMMON NAMES—English—English oak.
DESCRIPTION—A tree with stout spreading branches forming a broad-topped head. Leaves short petioled , auriculate at the base, oblong ovate, with 3-7 rounded lobes on each side. Flowers monoecious, staminate flowers in slender, pendulous catkins; pistillate flowers in spikes in the axil of young leaves.Fruit an acorn, ovate or ovate oblong in shape.
DISTRIBUTION—Native of Europe.
PART USED—Dried bark of young twigs and shoots.
HOMOEOPATHIC USES
ALCOHOLISM—It will antidotes the bad effects of alcoholism. Takes away craving for alcoholics.  Dropsy and liver affections. Enlarged liver and spleen. Pain in the splenic region.  Vertigo, with noises in ear. It can be used safely for a long time.
