Varicose veins are swollen, twisted blood vessels that bulge just under the skin’s surface. They are blue or purple and usually appear in the legs, feet and ankles. They can be painful or itchy.

ARNICA MONTANA

Varicose veins with ulcers. Varicose vein with extreme soreness and bruised feeling. Bruised feeling all through the body as if beaten.  Extreme varicose veins in both legs. The skin of the leg may be swollen, red, and hot. Torpid, dirty, bluish varicose ulcers, no pus, but having fetid secretion, half-transparent crusts, like thick glue. Fetid painful ulcers.

AMBRA GRISEA

Varicose veins of left leg. Painful. Left leg becomes quite blue during menses.  During menstruation, increased swelling of varicose veins, with pressure in the legs. Vulvar varicose.

CALCAREA FLOURICA

Enlarged, hard varicose veins. Varicose veins are knotted. Veins dilate, and become varicose inflamed. Dry, cracked, skin on legs. Ulcers, with hard, elevated edges, surrounding skin purple and swollen.

CARBO VEGETABILIS

Varicose ulcers, easily bleeding, pus smelling like Asafetida, heal and break out again. Spider veins.  Varicose veins during pregnancy.  

FLUORIC ACID

Varicose veins, especially chronic. Varicose veins tending to ulceration. Painful varicose veins, worse from warmth. Varicose ulcers, with red edges and vesicles.

HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA

Varicose veins with tired feeling in legs. Tense, bursting feeling in legs. Acts upon the coats of the veins, causing relaxation with consequent engorgement. Varicose veins with ulcers, very sore. Sticking and pricking pain.  Varicose ulcers with bloody bases.

MILLIFOLIUM

Varicose veins during pregnancy. For both painful and painless varicose veins.

PULSATILLA NIGRICANS

Varicose veins, painful. Veins full, varicose, painful. Pains, worse from letting the affected limb hang down. Boring pain toward evening.  Drawing, tensive pain in thighs and legs, with restlessness, sleeplessness and chilliness. Vein in forearms and hands swollen. Varicose veins during pregnancy.

SABINA

Knots and enlargements in varicose veins.

VIPERA

Varicose veins, with bursting pain. When they are allowed to hang the legs down it seems as if they would burst and the pain is unbearable. Elevating the legs brings relief. Veins are swollen, sensitive, and bursting. Severe cramps in lower limbs.

ZINCUM METALLICUM
